KALAFIOR

The Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea), is in the radish family (Brassicaceae), has fleshy and particulate blossoms, cabbage-like leaves and is used as a vegetable. It is a biannual member of the Brassicaceae family originating in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. The leaves are dark green, flowers are white or yellowish. It is a winter vegetable. It resembles the cabbage. In fact, it is derived from the cabbage as the flower stems of the cabbage shortened and became fleshy. The edible part is a concentrated flower that has not yet blossomed.There are three varieties nationally; autumn early cauliflower, winter cauliflower and March cauliflower. It is rich in phosphorus and vitamins.
